Insurance Services

Since the establishment of KMC thirty two years ago, we have strived to provide the best medical and technical services on regional and international levels. To accompany the progress made in the way medical insurance is provided and the increased number of insured patients in the kingdom and abroad, we have succeeded in offering a unique and specialized insurance department services for each insured patient in order to maintain our image of "Al Khalidi Medical Center… For Better Care"

In fact, we were the first among local hospitals to create a department that caters to the affairs of medically insured patients covered under different insurance umbrellas and to guide them every step of the way from admission to discharge so they can enjoy the utmost health and care under the supervision of an experienced panel of insurance personnel.

Don't hesitate to contact the KMC Insurance Department  + 962 6 4644281 ext. 590 or 594  between the hours of 8am-4pm.- we are here to serve you.

Procedures

  1. For patients referred by other health clinics or specialized doctors either for in-patient admissions or non-emergency surgical procedures, a special form related to the insurance company must be completed by the referring physician. It is recommended that the patient contact our insurance office at KMC at least 24hours in advance so that the necessary arrangements are made with the insuring party and to ensure that the process of admission to the hospital can be accomplished in a timely manner.
  2. For patients arriving to the emergency department, a designated staff will obtain the necessary insurance information and assist in filling out proper forms.

Policies

  1. All verbal approvals taken from insurance companies are considered preliminary pending till the recieval of an official written letter.
  2. In the event that an insured patient selects a specialized physician outside the network of physicians designated by his/her insurance company, the patient will be financially responsible for all related expenses.
  3. Patients transferred to KMC for surgical procedures must be admitted on the day of surgery only. The patient is responsible for accommodation at any earlier date if he/she chooses to, except for those surgeries that require admission one day or more before and that must be approved by the insurance company before admission.
  4. All insured patients must present their insurance card and a proper identification.
  5. There are different forms available at the admission office and the patient accounting department that the patient or an accompanying friend is asked to sign prior to admission. In general these forms commit the patient to pay additional medical and non-medical costs not covered under the insurance policy.
